When We Sin, We Have An Advocate

7 Jan

I was delighted to find this post by Thabiti Anyabwile today, reminding us of the glorious truth that in Christ Jesus, we have an advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1-2).  Here’s a brief excerpt of what he wrote about this verse:

We are not supposed to sin.  But we do.  Any of Christ’s people who do sin have an Advocate, none other than Jesus Himself.  And, oh, by the way, Jesus is “THE Righteous One” who made satisfactory atonement for our sin. And, yes, His atonement is sufficient for everyone in the world so no one is beyond its benefits.

That means you, too.  Stop running from Him, but rather run to Him.  Again, here’s the link to the post.
